The project is complete, but you need final payment to wrap everything up.
So why isn’t your client paying you?
And where did your client go?
Here’s what to say when your client disappears without making final payment:
Option One – Gentle reminder
I’m ready to send your files/launch your website but need final payment in order to do so! Did you have any questions or concerns you wanted to address before I hand things over? Let me know!
Option Two – Not so gentle reminder
I’m ready to send your files/launch your website, but need final payment in order to do so as outlined in the contract. If I don’t receive payment by ____ I will have to charge a ____% late fee. Please send payment as soon as possible!
Option Three – Pay me!
Final payment for your ____ is past due. Per the contract, you now owe the final payment as well as a late fee, resulting in a total payment of $____. If payment is not made by ____ another late fee of $____ will be added.
I will not be able to turn over your files/launch your website until payment has been made in full.
I am putting a maintenance page up on your website until payment has been made. Once you make payment you and your visitors/customers will be able to access the site again.
Note: Don’t have a contract? Check out these options! As a heads up, this list includes affiliate links, but we have used and love these templates ourselves!
